Frequently-Asked Questions

Do you have a studio we could use instead of our home space?
Yes, we do. If you would prefer to come to us, we can do that too.

Here's the thing, though: when you record at home, you get to hang onto our gear for a few days. If inspiration strikes you at 2am, you can wander over to your music creation space and track your idea in the moment. When recording at our place, we
operate a little more like a traditional studio and you don't get the full freedom that we like to offer our artists.

Are you currently operating with COVID?

You can stay up-to-date on our operations via our COVID-19 information page. We are currently operating, and we're happy to meet you to record while following our safety protocols. If you're uncomfortable with hosting us in your space, we're happy to make other arrangements: Contact Us to make an alternative plan so that we can record safely together.

Can you give us songwriting feedback?
Absolutely. You can Contact Us for free feedback and songwriting help on any of your songs. We also give feedback on all songs that are submitted to us so that you can record and release the best version of your tracks. Our producers are both very experienced songwriters, and we're committed to working with you to make awesome tracks and to help you develop your craft.

Our band is trying to decide between a song recording and live multitracking. Which do you recommend?
It depends on your goal for the recording. Song recordings are the better option if you're looking for overall quality, for tracks that you want to release on Spotify and streaming services. You'll want to record as many takes as you need to get it just right. With each instrument tracked separately, we can mix and master these songs with great subtlety and detail to make them sound incredible.

Live multitracking is good for creating a demo to send to venues and promoters. We'll make sure it sounds great, and they'll be happy to book you. You can record a lot more music in a lot less time this way, performing songs or just jamming. The drawback is that you don't get extra takes and overwrites to reach perfection - to record, the whole group plays together. Recording everyone at the same time means that there will be less room for us to mix and master your tracks to perfection as we would with a studio recording.

Is there a limit on how many tracks we can do?
Nope! We actually prefer recording more tracks so that you can have more time with the gear and our producers, without having to set up many times. We are happy to take on long-term projects like EPs and albums, and you'll hold onto the gear for the whole project. We'll throw in extra free gear rental time, depending on the size of the project.

How far are you willing to drive?
Our primary region is the greater Denver area, but we'll meet you wherever you are. For regions far outside the Denver area we'll charge a transportation fee of $40/hr. Not sure if you're in or out? Feel free to inquire via the Contact Us page.

What exactly is a "live recording"?
We can set up to record your entire band at the same time. The mix is a little less precise than if members tracked individually, but you can record a lot more music in a lot less time. You could play through songs or just jam together.

Alternatively, we can record performances, recitals, concerts, and even events like speeches.

What if we need more recording/rental time?
We are confident that you will have plenty of time to finish everything with what's included in our recording packages, but if needed, we will schedule with you to do more recording sessions.

If you anticipate that you will want extra time with our producers, you can purchase it at the start of your project for $30/hr. If you unexpectedly need extra time, it is harder for us to schedule and will be billed at $50/hour. We will discuss our recording plan with you at the start of your project to help you make the most of your time with us.

What if we don't like our mix? How do revisions work?
After our first run-through of your mix, we'll send it back to you. You'll have a chance to make and send us comments. We'll then schedule a "mix party", where you'll join us as we tweak the mix in real-time until it's just right. At the end of the mix party, your track will be finished, and we promise you'll love it.

NOTE: Due to current COVID-19 conditions, we are doing mix parties virtually over Zoom.

If you still aren't happy with your mix after the mix party, we will give you a full refund.

What if we want another instrument on our tracks?
We can play sessions for you and record pro musicians on your track. We can also add instruments virtually. We have a number of tools to do this. We can make it sound great, whether you'd like drums, horns, strings, guitars, bass, keys, or anything else!

Do you offer any other services?
Besides music recording, we have artists in our network who offer our clients special rates on music videos and album art. We are happy to connect you with them.
